SubscribeWe are disappointed to tell you that the Agape Orphanage has been temporarily closed by the South African Department of Social Development and Welfare. All children that were living at Agape are currently living with family members or in government and privately run homes. The RISE foundation has never supported Agape directly and our We Are Together Education Programme supports our learners and their school fees and pays educational institutions directly. Therefore, our support of fees, tutors and transportation will not cease because of the current situation at Agape. However, some children are living far from their previous schools and therefore attending new ones. We have been liaising with the South African government to ensure our learners live in the best possible conditions and continue to receive quality education wherever they are. The RISE Foundation and our Education Sponsorship Programme will continue to do everything possible to continue supporting quality education for the children from Agape as we have for the past four years.
